Night in Abruzzo:

Recently, I've been on The Gran Sasso Mountain, in Abruzzo county. We spent there a night and I tried to shot the Milky Way.
These are the results. Have a fine vision.

Norway (Optober 2011)
In October I visited Norway for a week, together with three friends photographers. We did a long loop in the region on west of Oslo, particulary in Telemark region , and in the large park dell'Hangardervidda. The landscape is really beautiful, sometimes majestic. The photo spots are endless. You can find some of them in the landscape gallery. Perhaps, to be pedantic, I could say that I missed animals, especially the large such as elks and reindeers, which we hoped to find. Probably was not the best time. But the satisfactions have been equally enormous. Enjoy it.

California (September 2011)
In September I had the good fortune to visit, for three weeks, California. In addition to some areas in the north counties of Los Angeles, I was able to visit the parks of Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings, Vasquez Rocks and the extraordinary Mono Lake. Here I got some pictures, I think indicative about the beauty of this land and the majesty of nature in California. I met two galleries, one for the landscapes and one for wildlife. By the way, I have to thank my relatives Jhon, Diane and Eric, for the patience with which they have accompained me along Palmdale and Lancaster counties. Have a good vision.

Ronnie Gaubert (May 2001):

Thursday, May 5, has died after a long struggle against a terrible illness, that also forced him in recent times to abandon his passion, Ronnie Gaubert. Ronnie was a great photographer and his work has been and will always represent a point of reference for me as for those who love nature photography. I therefore invite you to visit his page:

New editing of the galleries (November 2010):

Completed the arrangement of the galleries of the site;
I realized that whit much photographs and species, it becomes difficult to manage the plant site. I proceeded, therefore, to bring the species photographed in the "Order" or "Families" depending on the galleries.

The beautiful island of Ponza (Settembre 2010):

In September of this year I spent four days on the beautiful island of Ponza. I go there very often but mostly for diving and then I always see it by the sea. This time I've wanted to go "on" the island and I must say that looking through the lens, it has revealed to me landscapes that I had never appreciated in many years of attendance. It has reinforced my idea of organizing a photo tour in the spring. I have collected some views into the gallery the island of Ponza. I am sure that many will want to go.

Route in the Circeo National Park - The Hell's Quagmaires:

Anyone wishing to take photographs of the bird life of the Circeo Natural Park, and does not know where to start, will find interesting the route that I propose about the "Hell's Quagmaires " a "must" of these sides.
I hope it will be useful to some photographer friend, and I expect comments and suggestions.

Reprted photos to "La Genziana" photocontest:

I recently participated to the photo contest organized by Photographyc Group "the Gentian" in Pescara receiving three reports (two in the "Bird" and one in the "Macro" sections). It's a serious competition that I recommend to everyone. Here are the reported pictures.

Wings of Coto Doñana:

The birds of Coto Doñana are really something of spectacular.
Almost half of the european birds speices (one hundred stantial and the same migrants) for a global summ of six milions on speicemens, pass trough this area every year: 70.000 oche selvatiche, pratically all the speices of european ducks (150.000 - 200.000 speicemens), some ten thousands of herons of every speice, thousand of rapaci, rare too, and much other. These the images of some winged inhabitants of this magnificent national park.

Coto Doñana - June 2009:

In the month of June I had a trip in the wonderful National park of Coto Doñana in the south side of Spain.
This National Park shows an exceptional nature because represents a bridge between Africa and Europa. In fact, it presents the half of european birds species and extraordinary endemisms like the spanish Linx, the Camaleon, the Azure-winged magpie and exceptional concentrations of birds.
Here is the tales of this trip and some advice to go.

Detail in captivity:

Sometime, we have to use some strange opportinity to realize images, differently very hard to be captured . For instance, is the case of these portraits realized in the Oceanographic Museum of Valencia, Spain, in the City of Science. Here is a very large aviary with birds of this lands. Naturally the images haven't a clear naturalistic value but they are really intresting by documentaristic side (for instance, for the database of Latina Province that I have to expand). Among the other they are really nice to see.

Panoramic images :

I'll open a new section of panoramic images in the lanscapes gallery:
These images will be realized by the union of different shots (until 7-10) and their fusion in post production. In this way we can rapresent large arches of visible horizon without distortion introduced by fish-eye lens.
Have a nice visitation.

The red weevil, scourge of the palms:

In recent years the Pontinian area was hit by a plague that has virtually destroyed the entire park of palms of the Province of Latina. Responsible for this disaster is an allochthonous beetle, arrived in Italy from Africa, through Spain, with the importation of planting trees, the Red Weevil (Rincophorus ferrugineus):
Here's the article (published in the official website of the Province of Latina) on the beetle and the damage he has caused.
